One thing I love about our daughter, is that I get to see fatherly love on a regular basis. Sweet, special moments between a father and his child are so precious, and love is so powerful. Earlier this month (I'm kinda playing catch up...I've been incredibly busy), we took a trip to a local park to take in the fall colors. It was a beautiful November day! Since the womb, Josefine has been Papa's Girl. When we would talk at night, it was Jim's voice that would get her kicking, kicking, kicking! Now that we've gotten to know her a little bit, we know that kicking is a sign of being an excited and very happy baby!I love seeing them together. We went to the Iowa State Fair for Papa's Birthday last Friday and (amongst other things)picked up some "Grippie Clippies" for Josefine in the craft building (gotta LOVE those clippies when you have a baby w/ hair!). This one was custom made just for her!

Josefine has a cousin who was born only a few weeks before her. Her name is Ellenora and she's just a doll of a baby! She and Josefine look quite similar, if you ask me. We read somewhere that you can put pictures of faces in baby's crib/cradle. Because babies dig faces, you see. :) So, I thought I'd try this idea on for size. We put a picture of Ellenora in Josefine's crade for a few of her naps

After posting this photo on my Facebook, I received a few comments with what they think little Josefine is "saying" in this picture. This is a "You did WHAT??!!?" Either that or a panicked "I think I need a new diaper...now!" lol"Daddy, you have something, right there, in your nose."Any other interpretations of this otherwise "speechless" expression? :)This should be interesting...

Josefine smiled her very first interactive (while she's actually awake) smile on Monday - at 5 weeks. Now she's our Little Miss Sunshine, smiling upon waking, while she's putting herself to sleep (after about 5 minutes of protest, of course), and during her wake time while Mama and Papa talk to her. My friend, Stacy and I went through our pregnancies together! What a blessing and a whole lot of fun! We were only 3 days apart in our due dates! From the beginning we liked to say our babies were buddies! They ended up being born just 6 days apart. Aaron was born on June 23rd and Josefine, the 29th. This weekend we drove a few hours south for a wedding I was shooting. It was Josefine's first big outing. We were a tad nervous as to how well (or not so well) it would go. My babies were so tuckered out tonight! Jim passed out (and I mean OUT) a few minutes before Josefines late night feeding. When I got her up she was still a little snoozy. So, I set her beside her Papa and got this adorable shot! :) Don't they look peaceful? Today we took a deep breath and decided to go to Sunday School, and the morning Worship Service as well as the Evening Service...and we did it, successfully! Feeding times were perfect, so I could be at all services! Last year, my three-year-old niece, Lily, told us what she wanted for Christmas. It was "Ta-win Babies." We were quite perplexed by the request at first...ta-win??? What does THAT mean? One of my favorite things to do these days is to watch my baby girl "exercise" her facial muscles in her near-sleep. If she could talk in her sleep, I have an idea that she would be as hilarious as her Papa (he says so many funny things in his sleep!).
